Why We Do What We Do...
Dr. Richard Cooper’s life-long philosophy is “If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right and well and heartily as unto God”. Since becoming a physician, this has extended into the “mother principle”, that is, treat every patient, every film as if it’s your mother”. Quality and service are, therefore, driving forces behind all he does, including the company he formed in October 2004.
Dr. Cooper has long been concerned about the huge disparity of services, equipment, and the like between large urban hospitals and small rural ones. This was never more evident then with mammography CAD. This technology was (and is) routine in large hospitals yet essentially non-existent in small communities. A small facility about always had an insufficient number of mammograms to justify purchase or lease of CAD equipment. Dr. Cooper believed those patients, those radiologists, those communities deserved it just as much as everyone else. Thus was born the idea of outsourcing CAD service, hence the birth of Imaging Centers of America, Inc.
Since our humble beginnings, we have expanded our services.
We now offer the most comprehensive array of mammography CAD services in the country-outsourcing, equipment leasing (standard and the very popular “fee per click” arrangement), and equipment sales. Our mammography division also offers film digitization services as well as professional interpretation of mammograms. Regarding our interpretation service, Imaging Centers of America, Inc. has a joint venture with USTelemammography, one of the most respected providers of mammography reading services in the country. We also provide solutions for other imaging needs such as Bone Density and Digital Mammography.
We use the highest quality new equipment available in the world. The finest technology in the world means very little without the experience, knowledge, and discipline of a dedicated support team to back it up. Any authorized organization can sell or lease technology, but excellent service is what makes solutions like ours deliver what they’re designed to deliver.
