Mammography Interpretation
While Imaging Centers of America, Inc. believes that CAD is a very valuable aid in the detection of breast cancer, it is much less important than the interpreting radiologist. In addition to being board-certified, we believe that it is best if the radiologist reads thousands of mammograms per year, exhibits impeccable specificity and sensitivity statistics, and likes reading mammograms. Through Imaging Centers of America, Inc., your mammograms would be read by such radiologists.
We know that there are many reasons why radiologists are choosing not to read mammograms. Reasons include: lack of training, shortage of radiologists, liability issues, desires to spend more time doing “high tech” exams/procedures rather than conventional radiology.
